Raj Ballav Koirala marked his entry in the Nepali film industry with his debut movie Parkhi Basen released on 2007, the film was a blockbuster in the box office and held 100 days run from its date of release.By earning his debut award at the prestigious  KTV film awards he proved that he had the credentials of talent and versatility. He is the successful actors in the younger generation.

Raj Ballav Koirala is passionate about his work he is not only a hero but also delivers negative portrayal with brilliance. His philosophy is in being human and living life positively and not just seeing good but also by doing good. He values the potential of each individual and he says that people have it within themselves and it is not different from one another. His thoughts about equality between two people sets him apart because he feels each has the right and privileges that cannot be snatched away and unity is stronger than dispersion.

Raj Ballav Koirala has rendered his contributions in critically acclaimed movies like MASAN, APABAD, GURUDAKSHINA, RITU and his latest flick Highway to Dhampus. Raj Ballav Koirala was born in Pokhara and before his fame in film industry he started out by working as a host in the radio station Pokhara F.M 95.8. Raj Ballav Koirala is very inspired by nature and his artistic talent gives a room to express himself with panache’.

He says ‘always be kinder than you feel’ shows that he has compassion toward others.Personally, I like him in ‘Apabad’ because this film was different from its league and it was not a typical masala movie but it depicted the introspection of a depressed person who is in search of meaning in his life but after leaving his family and love of his life, the path he ventures far into doesn’t give him any hope but to return back to his ordinary life with his near and dear ones who are more than happy to have him back and care for him. This was a simple yet inspiring movie for us.

The portrayal of this character ‘Suyog’ in Apabad is convincing enough to melt the heart. In this one dimension role he shines with his performance to satisfy the audiences expectations.Koirala, has the drive for acting and he is in awe of actors like Robert De Niro, Om Puri, Leonardo De Caprio, Naseerudin Shah who were not just typical heros but great artists who mastered their acting skills with delivery and made the right impact to their audience who couldn’t have left without admiring them in their roles. Such were the legends in the history of cinema and Koirala, seeks to find himself to be on the footsteps of the veterans.

Raj Ballav Koirala collaborated with the cast and crew of Hollywood director for his film Highway To Dhampus released in September 2015. Koirala was awarded with outstanding youth of the year award by JCI International, Nepal Jaycees for his contributions in the Nepali cinema in the year 2011.His hunger to work and meet new challenges in making cinema and association with Hollywood gives him the edge and makes him ingenious. In the coming years we can find him making movies that are not just melodramatic but dynamic and versatile. His audience wants to see him big and renowned person in his field and we wish him all the very best in his endeavors.
